Is Master Resell Rights Legitimate for an Online Business?
As far as online businesses go, master resell rights is a legitimate business to start. MRR is a digital product (typically a course) that you can buy and license to sell as your own product.
Some master resell rights allow you to modify the product by adding to it or removing parts of it. Essentially, you buy an MRR product and resell it by promoting it to a target audience that may benefit from it.
Why Master Resell Rights is Not a Pyramid Scheme
You may come across YouTube videos and articles online that label master resell rights as a pyramid scheme. Some people label MRR this way because of how certain MRR products rise in popularity and begin trending.
Therefore those at the top of the wave tend to make the most money versus others that get into the trend at a later time. However, I don’t feel that master resell rights is a pyramid scheme in the sense that you do not have to recruit people into a downline.
This happens with network marketing (MLM) companies. Independent distributors of an MLM company will need to build a downline of other distributors to grow their business and to grow their income.
That is not the case at all with master resell rights. You buy the product once and can resell it or simply use what you learn from the product to create your own product.
How to Learn and Earn with Master Resell Rights
A master resell rights product is typically an online course that teaches something specific. Therefore, you can learn from the course as you are also making money from selling it at the same time.
The problem with many of the MRR products on the market is that many of them are generic and don’t offer any real value.
I am part of a high-ticket coaching program and when my online business coach asked how many people bought an MRR product and if it was low-quality, almost everyone said yes to both questions.
My business coach even bought several popular MRR products and said they were complete garbage.
If you are going to invest in an MRR course, be sure to do some research, ask questions, and be sure it is a product that you would feel confident in selling to your own audience.
Master Resell Rights Cost
MRR products will vary in price. However, the standard price I have been coming across is around the $500 mark. In comparison to some high-ticket courses, a digital marketing master resell rights course for $500 is a bargain.
However, the product needs to be worth well over that price point in my opinion. A $500 product is still a big investment for most people.
The last thing you want to do is ruin your reputation by selling a subpar product regardless if it is MRR or not.
Master Resell Rights Or Affiliate Marketing
As I mentioned earlier, master resell rights and affiliate marketing go hand-in-hand and can lead to a lucrative income online. Before I go into how they can work together, let’s describe how each works on their own.
How Master Resell Rights Work
When you buy an MRR product, you instantly become a product owner. A master resell rights license allows you to resell the same product that you bought.
Depending on the MRR terms, you may be able to modify the course by adding additional information or by removing information.
You can then sell the product for any price point you want (usually at a minimum of what you paid for it and up.)
What You’ll Need to Sell Your Digital Product (MRR)
There are some things you will need to set up before selling your digital product. The first is a payment processor such as PayPal, Stripe, or another.
Next, you’ll need an eCommerce platform to sell your product. Most sales funnel software can provide what you need and even include an upsell feature.

How Affiliate Marketing Works
The big benefit of affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to worry about product creation or setting up an E-commerce store. You don’t deal with any customer service either.
You promote another company’s products in exchange for a percentage of the sale (your commission) for every sale that you refer.
A good affiliate commission will be in the range of 30% – 50%. One downside of affiliate marketing is waiting for your commission payouts.
Most affiliate programs have a waiting period of 30 – 45 days to account for refunds. Almost all affiliate programs pay commissions via PayPal and some by check or wire transfer.
Master Resell Rights Affiliate Program
A digital marketing master resell rights course may also have an affiliate program. If you don’t care about selling a digital product under your own brand, you can still sell it as an affiliate.
This is the same dilemma I am dealing with for myself. I like the idea of selling a digital product but I also don’t want to deal with E-commerce software.
That is what makes a master resell rights affiliate program so appealing as an affiliate. I can still recommend the MRR product but not have to worry about customer service.
