As an affiliate marketer, it is an absolute must to have an email list and it is even more important to understand how to monetize it. One of the best methods is to monetize an email list with affiliate offers. The Jonathan Montoya 3 day challenge is a great beginner online course that teaches how to do just that.

I’ll explain how I monetize an email list with affiliate offers. Building an email list has been one of the best things I’ve done for my online business.

I recommend building an email list right away. It is the best way to hold on to as many leads as possible.

An email list is the one traffic source that we can control. Having a list can alleviate the worry of losing traffic due to an algorithm update, whether from a search engine or a social media platform.

Key Takeaways: Choose affiliate offers that are relevant to your niche. Finding a high-ticket affiliate offer is helpful and can earn you higher affiliate commissions. Nurture your email list by sending messages regularly.

Choosing the Right Affiliate Offers for Your Audience

Depending on the niche that you’re in, there will likely be a variety of affiliate offers that you can choose from. You are not limited to promoting just one affiliate product to your email list.

However, the products that you do promote should be related to your target audience. For example, if you are in the make-money-online niche, it would be odd to suddenly begin promoting health products to your list.

Identify Products Your Subscribers Can’t Resist

You can figure out which affiliate products to recommend by taking a look at the products that you use yourself. Do they have affiliate programs? If you are finding a use for these products, your audience may as well.

Some products that your audience may find useful could include software or tools that help them resolve or manage the issue they are dealing with.

Consider products that may even have recurring affiliate commissions. These are commissions that you earn month after month as long as your referrals remain customers of the product you’ve recommended.

Crafting Irresistible Affiliate Emails That Convert

All I can say is that writing irresistible affiliate emails that get conversions takes practice. When I started my email list, I would hardly get any clicks on the links I added to my messages.

It’s okay to not get many clicks on your messages. I do recommend signing up to other email lists within your niche and take note on how they write their emails.

Pay attention on their call-to-actions in their message. What works well for me is simply writing about what’s going on in my own online business.

Since I’m in the make-money online niche, I share what I’m doing and things I’ve experienced. I tie in affiliate offers into my content.

I try to email my list every day in order to stay top of mind as well as to make affiliate sales. I also use GetResponse as my email autoresponder.

I like GetResponse because it has automation tools that will automatically delete subscribers who are not active.

When to Send Affiliate Promotions for Maximum Impact

You’re going to hear varying opinions on when to send affiliate promotions. I’ve tried different strategies and you may be surprised to learn that I send promotions daily.

Why? Simply because everyone on your list is ready to buy at different times. The key is to offer value in your email messages and incorporate the product you’re promoting into the message.

You can test out your own strategy. Sometimes messaging a couple of times per week is great or once a week. The important thing is not to go weeks at a time without sending an email.

If you go too long in between messages, your subscribers may forget who you are and that they signed up to your list.

That could lead to marking your messages as spam and that can affect your messages landing in your subscriber’s inbox.

My Favorite Affiliate Offers to Recommend

I place my focus on digital offers. These offers work extremely well in the MMO (make money online) niche.

The MMO niche is one of the most popular for affiliate marketers. It is a rarity that someone doesn’t want to make more money.

These digital offers are in the form of online courses. Online education converts well. People will pay for information in order to achieve their goals.

If you are not in the MMO niche, you can seek out high-quality products within your niche. Some may even be high ticket which means higher commissions for you.

High Ticket or Low Ticket Affiliate Offers?

You can promote both high-ticket and low-ticket affiliate offers to your email list. However, I prefer to focus on promoting one high-ticket offer in order not to confuse my list.

Low-ticket offers are simple to recommend and most of the time, low-ticket offers can supplement versus compete with your main high-ticket affiliate offer.

It’s not a good idea to promote any and everything to your list. Keep it relevant and only one high-ticket affiliate product.

You want to build trust with your list. By recommending multiple high-ticket affiliate offers, you’ll confuse your subscribers.

It may even cause you to lose trust. If you want to promote more than one high-ticket affiliate offer, I recommend creating a separate list for each product.

Your Main Focus with Affiliate Marketing

One of my mentors states that the goal of your affiliate marketing business is to grow your email list.

When you have a large email list, you are not at the mercy of other platforms for traffic. For example, each time there is an algorithm update, many websites are affected and lose tons of traffic.

Or, let’s say you’ve built up a large following on social media such as Instagram, and then one day, they close your account. It happens!

An email list is traffic that you own. That is why it is important to focus the bulk of your marketing on sending people to your sales funnel.

I rarely send traffic directly to an affiliate link. That is like throwing away leads. Besides that, most people do not buy immediately.

That is what makes an email list so valuable. You can continue marketing to a target audience and when your list is large, there is potential to make affiliate commissions every day.

Closing Tips

I like to clean my subscriber list by removing subscribers who are not active. Meaning, they stop opening my emails.

You can do this manually by checking the last time your subscribers opened your emails. The email marketing software I use automates this process which is excellent for me.

It saves me time and I know only active subscribers are on my list. A lot of times, people may sign up to your list in order to get the freebie (lead magnet) you’re giving away.

Or they may want to find out what the main product is that you’re promoting. Those are what I call tire kickers. They never intend to buy anything.

There is no point in having a large email list if the subscribers are not opening your emails.
